I find I get fewer nicks and get a less itchy “recovery” using a safety razor after a good soak in a hot bath. That said it took me a long time to get reasonably quick at this. If you go that route I'd advise shaving with the grain where that makes sense, and be mindful if your partner also shaves their crotch you may both have a rough time without extra attention/lube. Similar advice WRT shaving legs: feels great when one partner does it but with two it can rub each of you the wrong way ;-). Back to technique: the main thing with a safety razor is you need to get good at stretching sections of skin flat to get an even pass. Shaving cream/lotion can make that harder actually, so use in moderation until you get more comfortable. Also if you are getting used to this I'd advise only shaving your shaft/scrotum and just trimming the bushes elsewhere, until that generates no real irritation. Shaving your perineum/inner thighs/ pubis will result in much more roughage for your more delicate bits.
I think most people would think the line is crossed if she actually went through with it. Relationships are never static and things change over time. She was a mature adult and came to you with a potential idea. She can't possibly know exactly where the line of what is and isn't acceptable without talking to you. She respected your ideals and chose to turn down the opportunity. I question how you know she knew the boundaries. Did you ever talk about online work exactly? Maybe she doesn't consider it sex work? Maybe she thought you would be okay with it? My issue is you are making a lot of assumptions about her. And you can't know those without talking to her. Yes there is a world where she is maliciously pushing boundaries. But there is also a world where she thought this would be okay with you. I think it's wrong not to give her some slack before accusing her. Do you want your partner to never come to you with new ideas? Do you want her to stop communicating with you? Because that is the risk you run if you consider her a bad person for this. It is completely okay to disagree with what she was considering. But it is hard to disagree with her talking it out with you.
