First off, Skyn aren't polyurethane. They are Polyisoprene or what might be called synthetic latex. They are exactly the same as standard latex condoms with the exception that the “rubber” that they are made from is made in a lab rather than comes from a tree. The reason that people sensitive to latex can use synthetic latex is that it isn't latex they are actually allergic to. Rather, it's the natural secretions in tree sap that cause them to welt and itch. But I digress. Here's my deal with polyurethane condoms. They transfer heat better. But there is a downfall. Because they are made of plastic and not rubber, they are not nearly as stretchy. Get one too small and it pinches you too tight. Get one too big and it slips off as your erection waxes and wanes during intercourse. Plus they are hard to find. Only mass produced polyurethane condoms I know of is Trojan Bareskin Supra. If you are monagomous you may want to try a lambskin condom. They feel awesome and they do prevent pregnancy. However because they are made of natural animal membranes, the tiny pores in them can block sperm but STI's may get through.
