Yes! I think this is the fundamental difference between men and women when it comes to sex. I think it also explains why things often go sideways in long term relationships. The man wants sex on a regular basis and the woman struggles to accommodate him. Even if she loves him and cares about him and finds him attractive, it’s not so simple when it comes to sex. It’s very difficult to engage in sex when she’s not fully feeling it. Most men, on the other hand, could perform sexually under almost any conditions — stranger/loved one, hot/cold, whatever.
It seems like the perfect time to explore. You’ll never know until you do explore, and the one thing you don’t want going forward is regrets for potentially missing an opportunity. I don’t see any downside.
I'd say focus on having an enjoyable time for both of you. Communication is good, it's okay to share that it is your first time. There are some things you won't know until you do it.
