2. IUDs are wild. I tried the copper IUD bc I medically cannot be on any hormonal IUD without severe risk of stroke due to other medical factors. It was absolute hell. I anticipated an acclimation period of hell, I was ok with that. It never stopped being hell. Something about my physiology did not mesh well with it and orgasming felt like I was being tazed in the cervix. Tried waiting two months before any more sexual activity, and note that I wasn't sleeping with anyone at the time so this was all solo experience; and it was so painful. Tried again, same thing. At this point I go back in to have the gyno check placement bc something is clearly wrong and all I'm told is placement is perfect, plenty of women experience this and “get used to it,” it was probably just that my body was trying to reject it but couldn't, and that the only real concern was if I started having PIV and it became uncomfortable for my partner that I should consider having it removed. Fuck all of that. I refused to leave until she removed it after repeatedly reinforcing that I was sure I wanted it out, and then she tried to get me on a hormonal (which my file explicitly states is NOT an option due to health risks). So yeah, while plenty of people are saying you shouldn't be able to feel it in a partner during PIV, it definitely happens. All sorts of batshit crazy shit happens with female birth control
